OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Nellie G. Bishop, 88, of rural Olive Branch died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 3, 1922 in Thebes, the daughter of Gilbert "Gibby" and Milbry (Dyer) Thompson. She married Walter H. Bishop on Aug. 14, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 2011.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Bishop of Olive Branch; one special grandson, John Painter of Columbia, Mo.; one grandson, Roger Price of Arkansas; two granddaughters, Rachel Price of Toledo, Ohio, and Renee Price of Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, Molly, Jack and Brook Price; one brother, Harold Thompson of Olive Branch; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Carole Elaine Price, in 2002; four sisters, Bonnie Farris, Maisie Foster, Genevieve Willis and Pearl Taylor; and one brother, Robert Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Beechwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at the time of service.
