The project to replace the U.S. 61 bridge over Ramsey Creek in Cape Girardeau County has been accelerated. Work is scheduled to begin April 26, weather permitting. During construction, southbound U.S. 61/Kingshighway will be closed from Silver Springs Road south to Highway 74 west. Completion is anticipated in late June. The project had originally been scheduled to begin in August. Signs and warning devices will be in place.
