A 22-year-old man received moderate injuries Wednesday when he was thrown from his scooter after a car collided with him at Independence Street and South Silver Springs Road in Cape Girardeau. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. Cape Girardeau Police Department officer J.J. Thomas said the 20-year-old car driver was traveling south on Silver Springs Road through the intersection and hit the scooter driver, who was traveling east. He was cited for failure to yield, according to Sgt. Jason Selzer. The injured man was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center.
