Edith Donna Sachse, 73, of Oak Ridge died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 28, 1937, at Whitewater, to Leonard Elwood and Lillian Lucille Chapman Scholz. Edith was married to Grover Gene Sachse on Aug. 7, 1955. He preceded her Aug. 18, 2003.
Edith helped her husband take care of the family farm. She had been a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crump.
Survivors include two sons, Gene (Karen) Sachse of Oak Ridge, Tom (Cheryl) Sachse of Friedheim; a daughter, Donna (Ray) Vernon of Perryville, Mo.; a brother, Leroy Scholz of Gorham, Ill.; five sisters, Ella May Amelunke of Whitewater, Doris Crites of Jackson, Willa Homan, Wilma Meade and Betty Crowden, all of Gorham; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jon Sedgwick officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem United Methodist Cemetery at Daisy.
