A ribbon cutting was held Thursday for Veterans Memorial Drive, which saw phase four of the project recently completed.

City officials turned out to tout the project, which was administered by the city's engineering division. The original bid price for the work was $1.3 million. Construction on phase four began in May and was mostly completed in December. The street has been extended by nearly a mile and has sidewalks. Veterans Memorial Drive also includes the city's first completed bike lane. The project was paid for by money from Transportation Trust Fund 3.
