Givens, manager of HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson, advocates health and fitness at home, work and in the community. The 39-year-old father of four volunteers with health-related charities, promotes fitness among kids and adults, and is often spotted wearing Elvis getups and Superman costumes, all in the name of helping others. He is active with Jackson Chamber of Commerce, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, American Heart Association, Project Charlie and Southeast Hospital Foundation. He's also a St. Mary's Cub Scout Cubmaster and assists with coaching kids' sports. He has received the American Heart Association's Volunteer of the Year Award and the Spirit of Southeast Hospital Employee Award. Givens is currently teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Southeast Missouri State University.

"I have liked seeing more activities for active families in the Cape and Jackson area, like the water park and trail expansion. I think there are still more opportunities for offer family-involved activities such as roller skating rinks or other types."
