Clifton elected president of state cornoners' association

Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton was elected president of the Missouri Coroners' and Medical Examiners' Association at the organization's state conference in Jefferson City, Mo., March 8 to 10. The association is divided into troops, similar to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and each troop has a director who assists members with training and legislative issues. Clifton was elected by acclamation by the troop directors. Before being elected president, he served as Troop E director, secretary, treasurer and vice president of the association.

Howard joins LeBounce as general manager

Maddy Howard has been hired as general manager at LeBounce, an indoor inflatable play center in Cape Girardeau. She is a Jackson native and graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, with a bachelor's degree in recreation. LeBounce opened in late February with more than 6,000 square feet of inflatable play areas, including a giant triple slide and obstacle course. It is at City Centre in the former Rust & Martin building.

InterQuest Information Services gets new vice president

Charlie Francis has joined InterQuest Information Services as vice president of sales development. Francis will be responsible for promoting the company's employee screening and tenant search services. InterQuest, based in Cape Girardeau, provides comprehensive background search services for employers and rental property managers, including employment, credit and criminal background checks.

Amanda Todt has opened a Fresh Coat Painting franchise to serve the Cape Girardeau area. Founded in 2004 in Cincinnati, Fresh Coat Painters provides services for residential, commercial and governmental customers in more than 100 major cities across the United States and Canada. Todt previously worked as an independent insurance adjuster.

Rose Bed Inn co-owner attends retreat for B&B board members

Eldon Nattier, co-owner of the Rose Bed Inn Bed and Breakfast at 611 S. Sprigg St., attended the Bed and Breakfast Inns of Missouri board of directors retreat earlier this month in Rocheport, Mo. Nattier serves as marketing director for the association. During the retreat, the group voted to join the Professional Association of Innkeepers International in promoting a state-wide "a better way to stay" program.

Knudtson attends training for public service program

Jay B. Knudtson, executive vice president of First Missouri State Bank and former Cape Girardeau mayor, recently attended a Missouri Bar Fee Dispute Resolution Program training session at the Lake of the Ozarks. Knudtson serves as a volunteer for the public service program, which helps clients who feel they have been charged unfairly by an attorney. At the training session, volunteer lawyers and nonlawyers honed their mediation and arbitration skills.

Farm Bureau agents get recognition

Gerald Jansen and Dustin Hoesli, Cape Girardeau County Farm Bureau insurance agents, recently earned membership in the Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance Company's Million Dollar Club. This is Jansen's second year and Hoesli's first year to qualify. Jansen and Hoesli also were recognized as members of the Issued Lives Pyramid. Jansen was honored as a 2011 Premier Agent. Awards were presented during a conference March 3 to 5 in Branson, Mo.

Company rebrands to better reflect services

SOTO Property Management has rebranded in an effort to reflect all the real estate services it offers. SOTO Property Solutions, which includes Property Management and Property Investment divisions, was recently formed, owner David E. Soto said. Soto spent the majority of his career in management in the computer services industry. In 2001 he began investing in real estate to further diversify his holdings. He hired Wunderlich Realty and Property Management to help him and ended up buying the business from Clinton and Doris Wunderlich in 2008. Doris continues to work with Soto. Soto's son, Dave Jr., also works at SOTO Property Solutions as a sales associate.
