Otto Porter completed the three-peat, and he did it in record fashion.

The Scott County Central star led the Braves boys basketball team to its third consecutive Class 1 state title Saturday. He broke the state career final four scoring record on his way to the crown.

The 6-foot-9 Porter, who is drawing interest from some of the nation's elite college basketball programs, helped SCC defeat Jefferson 78-42 in the state semifinals and Dadeville 69-54 in the state title game.

"It feels good. It's just what we've been working for," Porter said after the state title game. "It just paid off at the end. I can't even describe it. It just feels so good."

Porter scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds against Dadeville. He shot 10 of 14 (71 percent) from the field and was a perfect 7 of 7 from the free-throw line.

"Coach always told me to just be patient, just let the game come to you," Porter said. "That's what I kind of just did. I just tried to get my teammates involved -- just have to set the tempo for the second half."

Porter broke the state career final four scoring record against Jefferson. He poured in 18 points in the first quarter and 34 points in the game to break the 51-year-old record for career points at the final four.

"I was feeling great," Porter said after the win vs. Jefferson. "I was just trying to get in a rhythm. Coach always tells us to start the tempo of the game, just try to come out and set the tempo for the game."

Porter was 15 of 18 (83 percent) from the field and added nine rebounds, five steals and four assists.
