BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- Lydia Mae Harrell Mitchell, 78, of Brownwood passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 5, 1932, at Brownwood, daughter of Jess and Cora Allen Harrell.
Lydia was a former board member of Brownwood Cemetery. She retired as a cook from Advance Nursing Center. She had dedicated her life to God with her talent of music. She was a Christian of General Baptist belief.
Lydia and Clarence Mitchell were married June 2, 1967, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death Sept. 29, 1981.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Ronnie Winchester of Brownwood; a grandson, Austin Winchester of Brownwood; two brothers, Watis Harrell of Chaffee, Mo., Cortez Harrell of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Bertie Camren of Advance, Mo., Elvonda Beal of Arab, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Brownwood Cemetery.
