ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- Gary Burch, 64, of St. Charles died Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Kaskaskia Island, Ill., on July 22, 1946, son of the late Lee J. and Dorothy A. Lawrence Burch. He and Diana S. Siegmund Powers were married Dec. 1, 2001.
Survivors include his wife; three stepsons and a stepdaughter, Jonathan Powers, Jeremy Powers and friend Sara, all of St. Charles, Jenny Lee and Brett Voelker of Wildwood, Mo., J.W. and Mary Powers of Brentwood, Mo.; a brother, John Burch of Pevely, Mo.; and two stepgrandchildren, Jeffrey and Sophia.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Daryl Burch and Ronald Doza.
Burch was a car hauler for Jack Cooper Transport. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in St. Charles; Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree; booster member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 6:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo. The wake will be at 5 p.m. Friday.
Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kaskaskia Island, with the Rev. Richard Kasznel officiating.
Burial will be in Kaskaskia Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to Humane Society of Missouri in St. Louis or St. Louis Area Foodbank.
