WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FACING THE OAK RIDGE SCHOOL BOARD?:

My main interest is providing a superior quality of education for the children and will continue do what is good for kids. If re-elected to the school board, I will continue to make every effort that the school continues to put the kids first. I recognize we provide a quality education for the children in the district. District finances are always on my mind. It is very difficult attempting to plan and budget without having advanced knowledge of the amount of money we will receive from the state. We on the Board do the best we can with what we receive.

WHAT IN YOUR BACKGROUND OR EDUCATION MAKES YOU QUALIFIED FOR THIS OFFICE?:

Certified board member of MSBA (having 89 credit hours for continued education) and MSBA delegate. Currently serving ninth year on the Oak Ridge R-VI Board of Education. Past member of the Preschool Advisory Council, member of Reading Stakeholders for Oak Ridge R-VI School District. I was a councilor for Little Egypt Lutheran Camps for 25 years (Adventure Camp Dean for 14 years). Member of the Southeast Missouri Hospital Association. Having raised two children and now four grandchildren living in the district I am very interested in the quality of education they receive. I believe Oak Ridge has a fantastic facility, well qualified exceptional teachers and staff. I will continue to make the Oak Ridge School District the best. Serving on the board of education is a worthwhile cause and is very rewarding.
