CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Gerry Dale Slinkard, 62, of Chaffee died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 30, 1948, in Randles, son of Hubert Wilson and Evelyn Mobley Slinkard. He and Iris Lee Taylor were married July 20, 1965. She died April 1, 2006.
Gerry retired from Procter & Gamble as a warehouse technician. He was a member of The Church in Morley, Mo.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include a daughter, Crystal (Michael) Hayes of Chaffee; three brothers, Jeryl (Dawn) Slinkard of Oran, Mo., Charles Kenny Slinkard of Cairo, Ill., Paul David (Cindy) Slinkard of Jackson; a sister, Alice (Mike) Swain of Chaffee; nine grandchildren, Katelyn, Seth, Zane, Abby, Mylee, Bryton, Jericha and Eli Hayes, and Chyanne Kern, all of Chaffee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Doug Sikes officiating.
Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery with full military rites.
