Rosebud M. Call, 92, of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home, where she had lived the past 18 months.

The oldest of five children, she was born March 11, 1919, in Jackson, to Lawrence and Amelia Engelmann Call. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Grade School and was a 1937 graduate of Jackson High School.

Rosebud was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In her youth, she was active in the former Walther League, taught Sunday school 35 years in the children's department, was a member of Ladies Aid and Joy Group and was a charter member and past president of Concordia Guild.

She was first employed in the office of the former Goodwin Poultry Co. on Mill Hill in Jackson. In 1939, she became a supervisor in the office of the former Florsheim International Shoe Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1984. After retirement she worked part time at S&S Florist, Fruitland Auction Barn and Thrivent for Lutherans in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, William "Bill" and Erma Call of Jackson; many nieces and nephews who were dear to her; and six godchildren, Paula Rose Sewing Althschul of Portland, Ore., Kathryn Sue Call Tedrick of Bentonville, Ark., Kim Call Potts of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Sharon McBryde Lappe of Perryville, Mo., Mary Rose Palisch James of Cape Girardeau and Michael Sievers of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest "Tink" (Margie) Call, L.R. "Ralph" (Vicki) Call; and a sister and brother-in-law, Hunter Jean (Wib) Sewing.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating.

Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are nephews and great-nephews, Don and Terry Call, Robert Sewing, Mike, Matthew and Mark Call, Don Call II, Dale Bolin, Matt Lacey, Clark Tedrick, Dan Callahan and David Althschul.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
