Players from Southeast Missouri made up 30 percent of the media's Class 1 all-state first team. Southeast Missourian

Players from Southeast Missouri made up 30 percent of the media's Class 1 all-state first team.

Scott County Central seniors Stewart Johnson and Otto Porter were joined by Oak Ridge senior Brett Thomas on the first team.

Porter and Johnson led the Braves to their third consecutive Class 1 state title.

Porter, who is drawing interest from numerous elite college programs, averaged 29.5 points and 12.6 rebounds this season.

Johnson, who served as SCC's point guard, averaged 13.7 points and 7.0 assists.

Thomas, whose Blue Jays lost to SCC in the Class 1 District 2 title game, averaged 19.3 points, 13.2 rebounds, 7.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

A pair of Notre Dame players earned second-team honors in Class 4.

Senior Jacob Tolbert, who averaged 19.6 points and 9.8 rebounds, earned a spot on the boys team.

Senior Allyson Bradshaw, who will play at Southeast Missouri State next year, averaged 17.1 points, 3.2 steals and 3.3 assists for the Bulldogs this season. She was named to the girls second team.

Meadow Heights junior Whitney Welker, who helped the Panthers reach the state quarterfinal round for the third consecutive year, was named to the Class 2 second team. She averaged 15.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals for Meadow Heights.

The all-state teams and final polls as selected by the Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.
