Illinois man dead after Perry County crash
An Illinois man was killed early Monday after a head-on crash in Perry County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. on Route H, just east of Perry County Road 936. Michael T. The accident occurred at around 8 a.m. on Route H, just east of Perry County Road 936.

Michael T. Tomkins, 39, of Herrin, Ill., was pronounced dead the scene, where the highway patrol said his vehicle collided head on with a vehicle driven by a Cape Girardeau man, 44-year-old James E. Buck.
Buck's vehicle overturned, according to the highway patrol. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Perry County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
