Myers joins Alliance Bank as mortgage loan originator

Denise Myers of Jackson has joined Alliance Bank in Cape Girardeau as a mortgage loan originator. She brings five years in mortgage lending experience, having last worked at Regions Bank as a mortgage lending officer. Maurer elected president of trade association

Jim Maurer, owner of PAJCO Inc. and Rhodes 101 Stops, was recently elected President of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (MPCA). MPCA is a 74-year-old, 350-member statewide trade association located in Jefferson City that represents the majority of fuel marketers, fuel retailers and convenience store owners in Missouri. Maurer's election occurred at the Petroleum and Convenience-Store Exposition of Mid-America (PACE) in Kansas City, Mo. PACE is a four state petroleum marketer and convenience store trade show showcasing the industry's most up-to-date technology, products & services. Participating states include Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.

Charlotte Matthews has taken over the Edward Jones office at 623 S. Silver Springs Road in Cape Girardeau. Matthews is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in business management. She previously worked for Commerce Bank as an account representative for merchant sales. Nicole Farrar is serving the branch office as branch office administrator. Edward Jones provides financial services for individual investors in the United States. The firm's 12,000-plus financial advisers work directly with nearly 7 million clients.

Young named assistant city attorney for Cape Girardeau

Greg Young is now working as assistant city attorney for the City of Cape Girardeau. Young is originally from the St. Louis area. He and his wife Amy, a native of Cape Girardeau, attended law school at University of Missouri-Columbia. After working in private law practice and as a public defender in Columbia, Mo., Young worked with the Office of the Attorney General in the financial services division.

Conrad elected treasurer, wins award at state conference

City Clerk Gayle Conrad was elected as the State Treasurer of the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association for 2011-2012, at the organization's recent annual conference. In addition, Conrad received her 200 hours certificate for advanced instruction and professional development. Gayle also received the Everyday Hero Award for the organization's Southeast Division. The award is given to those who have served and helped promote the city clerk profession and the organization. Conrad was nominated by her Southeast Division peers.
