TRUMP is making headlines. However it seems to be that it has been forgotten that some of his scams have cost people their life's saving. Also his so-called university is another one. He is no different then Bernard Madoff. He has done just about the same thing. But he and Palin are being put right up front when it comes to news stories. It is a shame our news people have come to look the other way and make the crooks look like angels...

Trump's wrongdoings

TRUMP is making headlines. However it seems to be that it has been forgotten that some of his scams have cost people their life's saving. Also his so-called university is another one. He is no different then Bernard Madoff. He has done just about the same thing. But he and Palin are being put right up front when it comes to news stories. It is a shame our news people have come to look the other way and make the crooks look like angels.

Patriot Act

SEN. Ron Wyden is trying to warn the American public to the loss of the 4th Amendment due to the Patriot Act and nobody listens. Democracy was fun while it lasted but now we have a police state. If the masses would just spend some time and learn what the Patriot Act is, it would end the very next day.

Cellphone petition?

NOW that we have learned that using a cell phone can cause cancer, is there a risk of secondhand cellphone cancer? If so, are the citizens of Cape and the American Cancer Society going to start a petition and have this put on a ballot to make Cape cellphone-free in public places?

Pardon the pun

I'M glad Cape is going to build a skate park but I fear it may be too late. For far too long Cape has been skating on very thin ice.

Obama's plan

UNFAIRLY deemed knee-jerk right-wing columnist but legitimate Nobel Prize aspirant in the field of economics Mike Jensen recently wrote that the state of the economy will be President Obama's 2012 campaign theme. I respectfully disagree. I think it will revolve around three themes: Medicare, Medicare and Medicare, with the emphasis being on the Republican effort to kill it.

Blaming Bush

SOME people blame Bush for the 4,000 American deaths in the Iraq war. All of these were volunteers; none was drafted. In previous wars many died, many were drafted. World War II: 400,000 American deaths. Korean War: 36,000 American deaths. Vietnam War: 58,000 American deaths. I would not even think of blaming the presidents for these deaths. Many people are involved when the decision is made to go to war. They use the best information they have when the decision is made. All of these presidents loved their country and none of them wanted to see men and women die for their country.

Bloomfield logic

I really have to question the logic on widening Bloomfield Road. And, beyond that I have to question the eight-month projected completion date. With good dry weather in front of us, I don't understand why this can't be done on a fast track timeline. In the end, I fear widening the road up to Benton Hill Road will only serve to build a speed ramp for drivers coming from Cape. Their failure to slow down when the road narrows will only make Bloomfield more unsafe than it already is. If people would drive the speed limit and police would enforce it on Bloomfield Road, residents and visitors could enjoy one of the most scenic drives in the area. Instead, we choose to make it another concrete monument and a shortcut for daily commuters.

Obama's deaf ears

I don't often comment on letters, but the one in Wednesday's edition titled "Obama listens" screams for an answer. Obama listens! What planet are you living on? He shoved Obamacare down the throats of Americans, when more than 70 percent were against it. (Pelosi said we needed to pass it, then we could find out what was in it; classic!) Then this week, after Indiana signed a law to stop the taxpayer funding of abortions, he "overruled" the state, because he knows what's best! Since he's been in office, the only things he has done is what he thinks is best; don't confuse him with facts. He's reneged on almost every promise he made, and you people still buy it hook, line and sinker.
