Hilda A.R. Deevers, 98, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, to William C. and Mamie Hett Deevers. Hilda worked at International Shoe Co. more than 50 years. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school more than 20 years, and was very active in the Walther League many years...

Hilda A.R. Deevers, 98, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, June 6, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 6, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, to William C. and Mamie Hett Deevers.

Hilda worked at International Shoe Co. more than 50 years. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school more than 20 years, and was very active in the Walther League many years.

Survivors include a sister, Cleo Linebarger; a brother-in-law, Weldon Hager; two nephews, Lonnie Brockmire, all of Cape Girardeau, Ronald Brockmire of Chiefland, Fla.; two nieces, Jackie Stewart of New Orleans and Carla Padour of California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
