I-55 in New Madrid County reduced to one lane for sandbag cleanup

SIKESTON, Mo. -- North- and southbound Interstate 55 from County Road 820 to Highway 80 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction next week while Missouri Department of Transportation crews clear sandbags off the shoulders of the highway. Weather permitting, the work will be done 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling near the area.
