The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.

Egbuka competed in the shot put, weight throw and hammer throw at Southeast. She capped her impressive collegiate career by defending her OVC outdoor hammer throw title last month and also claimed the shot put championship.

Egbuka, a Dean's List and OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll selection, also served as the vice president of the Southeast Missouri Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Eastern Illinois soccer standout Kaylin Lorbert is the OVC's other nominee.
