Garner edges Russell by a stroke at Gateway Junior PGA Series event

Derrick Garner shot an 81 to defeat Jake Russell by one stroke in the boys 16 to 19 18 holes tour division of the Gateway Junior PGA Series event Wednesday at Bent Creek Golf Course.

Karsten Short carded a 49 to beat Hunter Lincoln by a stroke in the boys 12 and 13 nine holes division.

The next tournament is scheduled for Monday in Sikeston, Mo.
