Ross Moldenhauer went 5 for 5 and was the winning pitcher as Cape Girardeau Ford and Sons American Legion Post 63 defeated Sikeston 13-6 on Thursday at Capaha Field.

Moldenhauer added three RBIs as Cape improved to 21-8 overall and 4-1 in District 14 play.

Moldenhauer took the mound in the second inning after starting pitcher Jamie Pickel was struck by a line drive with one out. He allowed one unearned run in 3 2/3 innings, yielding three hits and striking out two. Aaron Wendel pitched the final four innings.

Jimmy Obermark, Andrew Williams and Ryan Siebert all had two hits as Cape finished with 13 hits overall.

Cape returns to action tonight in an eight-team Fourth of July tournament in Paragould, Ark., facing Blytheville, Ark., at 5 p.m.
