CARDWELL, Mo. -- Authorities are investigating two deaths at Cardwell that occurred on Thursday morning.

According to information provided by Dunklin County Sheriff Bob Holder, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a call was received from Cardwell stating that there were two individuals in a residence that were unresponsive to the attempts of a family member to awaken them.

Authorities and medical personnel were dispatched to the residence on Circle Drive, where upon arrival they found a 22-year-old man, identified as Jeremy Scott Price, and a 44-year-old woman, identified as Kimberly Diane Hartwig, lying on a bed in the southwest corner of the home. Hartwig is the mother of Price. Both individuals were reported as deceased.

Authorities said there was a note left in the bedroom by Hartwig relating to the deaths.

The deaths are being investigated by the Dunklin County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Cardwell Police Department.
