Marty Rodgers

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Marty Wayne Rodgers, 53, of Advance passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 13, 1957, in Eugene, Ore., son of Alva and Wanda Wills Rodgers.

Marty was a 1976 graduate of Advance High School. He worked for Drury Family Construction Companies more than 30 years.

He and Vickie Donneley were married from 1987 to 2005. They had two children together.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Audrey Rodgers; a daughter, Jenny Rodgers; his mother, Wanda Rodgers, all of Advance; three brothers and two sisters, Gale Rodgers of Springfield, Ore., Ava Fowler and Rickie Rodgers of Advance, Randy Rodgers of Columbia, Mo., Janet Lukens of Herrin, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in New Hope McGee Cemetery in McGee, Mo.
