Heat to return this weekend
Forecasters expect the mid to upper 90s to return this weekend, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory for Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois. The advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. Saturday and expires at 7 p.m. Sunday. Highs in Cape Girardeau are expected to reach 95 degrees Saturday and 97 degrees Sunday, according to weather service forecasts.
