One person remains hospitalized after being injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in Cape Girardeau, police say.

Cape Girardeau police spokesman Darin Hickey said Sunday that no charges have been filed yet and police are still investigating the incident.

Police officers responded to a report of a fight and gunshots at Rhodes 101, 1126 N. Sprigg St. at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Cape Girardeau police located the suspect vehicle at the Village on the Green apartment complex after a tip from the Southeast Missouri State University police.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. No charges were filed and he was released, according to police.

One of the car's passengers, a 20-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was transported to Saint Francis Medical Center. Police said he is still in the hospital and that formal charges are pending his release.

A second passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was also transported to Saint Francis Medical Center after suffering facial injuries sustained when the suspect's vehicle struck an electrical transformer before arriving at 4 Village Drive.

Police said the woman was released from the hospital and that no charges were filed.

Police said two guns were recovered from vehicle.
