Addie Lee Henley, 99, of Jackson, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Monticello House in Jackson. She was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Somerville, Tenn., to John D. and Mamie Martin Parsons. She and the Rev. Melvin Brent Henley were married Nov. 27, 1935. He passed away April 6, 1976...

Addie Lee Henley, 99, of Jackson, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born Sept. 8, 1911, in Somerville, Tenn., to John D. and Mamie Martin Parsons. She and the Rev. Melvin Brent Henley were married Nov. 27, 1935. He passed away April 6, 1976.

Addie was a member of New Salem Methodist Church near Daisy. She supported her husband's ministries in Anniston, Mo.; the Oak Ridge charge, which included four Methodist churches, Oak Ridge, Millersville, Old Salem and New Salem; Scott City; Marble Hill; Dixon, Mo.; Jonesburg, Mo.; and Sedgewickville, Mo. At the time of her husband's death, they were ministering at Zion Methodist Church at Old Appleton and Fruitland United Methodist Church.

Addie's family meant everything to her, and they visited her home every Sunday. She also had a great joy and passion for reading.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Don) Henry of Oak Ridge and Bonnie (Roger) Fischer of Jonesburg; five grandchildren, Donna (Kerry) Thompson of Scott City, Angie (Dave) Depung of Oak Ridge, Claudia Duarte and husband Joe of Jackson, Belinda Angell of Gerald, Mo., and Ted (Julie) Fischer of Jonesburg; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy and Ted Henley; two brothers, and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Salem Methodist Church at Daisy.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Calvin Brown, Doug McClellan and Luther Rhodes officiating.

Interment will follow in New Salem Methodist Cemetery at Daisy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Salem Cemetery or to SADI Autism.
