Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Hurst Sr. of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception July 9, 2011, at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Jackson. Hosts were their children and grandchildren.

Hurst and Barbara Butler were married July 2, 1961, at First Baptist Church, by the Rev. Rex Henderson.

Maid of honor was Doris Hurst, sister of the groom. Best man was Jack Randol. Other attendants were Mary Don Randol and Bonnie Butler, sister-in-law of the bride; Gary and Mike Hurst, brothers of the groom. Flower girl was the late Toni Butler, sister of the bride, and ringbearer was Brent Bollinger. Soloist was David Butler, brother of the bride.

The Hursts have two sons, Denny (Donna) Hurst of Jackson and Rodney (Carol) Hurst of Millersville. They have five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
