SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the Interstate 57 bridge at Cairo, Ill., will be closed for repairs. Beginning Tuesday, the bridge over the Mississippi River connecting Missouri and Illinois will be closed to north- and southbound traffic. The closure is expected to last three days, as IDOT's contractor makes repairs to the bridge. Marked detour routes will be in place. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is an additional detour option.
