MORLEY, Mo. -- Norma Jean Cook, 82, of Morley died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Southeast Hospital. She was born March 31, 1929, in Flint, Mich., daughter of the late Aaron Alvin Chaney and Myrtle Mae Dockins Warner. She married Clyde J. Cook on Feb. 7, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1976...

MORLEY, Mo. -- Norma Jean Cook, 82, of Morley died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born March 31, 1929, in Flint, Mich., daughter of the late Aaron Alvin Chaney and Myrtle Mae Dockins Warner. She married Clyde J. Cook on Feb. 7, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1976.

Norma was a retired flamer at Sports Specialty Shoe Co. in Chaffee, Mo. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee. She loved to paint portraits and was a gifted seamstress.

Survivors include a sister, Pansy Campbell of Morley; a brother, M.C. (Frances) Chaney of Eureka, Mo.; a nephew, John Campbell of Cape Girardeau; a niece, Anna (Jerry) Williams of Chaffee; several more nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Gib Chaney and Thelmer "Punch" Patterson.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in New Morley Cemetery in Morley.
