A Cape Girardeau man pleaded not guilty Monday in connection to a stabbing at a house party in May.

Kollin L. Payne, 22, appeared before Judge William Syler for his arraignment on a charge of second-degree assault. The case was continued until Aug. 22.

At the time of Payne's arrest, two other men, Brandin Rowe, 20, of Jonesboro, Ill., and Kemond Hillis of Ullin, Ill., were also arrested on similar charges, according to police reports. The three men allegedly attacked four others at a house party in the 300 block of North Pacific Street.

Payne was previously released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
