A homeless man accused of robbing a teenage boy last week was arrested over the weekend.

Eugene L. Dodds, 20, was arrested Sunday afternoon and formally charged Monday with second-degree robbery.

Dodds' arrest stems from an incident reported about 12:15 a.m. Aug. 10 at 1423 Luce St. in Cape Girardeau. A 16-year-old boy told police he was assaulted at the residence and that the suspects took his bicycle and cellphone and attempted to take his wallet, Cape Girardeau police officer Jason Selzer said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dodds on Sept. 9 before Judge Gary Kamp. He remains in custody on $10,000 cash or surety bond.

Police continue to look for other suspects in this case, Selzer said.
