KENNETT, Mo. (AP) -- Nine people, most of them from southeast Missouri, are facing federal indictment for an alleged conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.

The Kennett Daily Dunklin Democrat reports that the U.S. Attorney's office in Cape Girardeau announced the indictment on Wednesday. Six of the accused are from Kennett, two from Poplar Bluff and one from Blytheville, Ark.

FBI Special Agent Dennis Baker calls it one of the largest drug busts in recent memory in the Missouri Bootheel region.
