Pay more taxes
FINALLY a couple men who have large sums of money tell it like it is: Warren Buffett and Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks. Good for them for saying what I and probably many other people think. People who make a million should pay more in taxes. Why should they pay only 17 percent when many pay 30 percent? Politicians can raise lots of money for elections and re-elections but they can't balance a budget.
Cutting lawns
SOMEONE asked why people cut lawns when it's so hot. I've often wondered why people cut lawns at all. Given the tragic events at Birds Point and Joplin, Mo., you would think it would begin to soak in on folks that there is no way to bring lasting order to and control the forces of Mother Nature. For example, contemplate what lawns may look like 9 million years after mankind is extinct.
Political brinkmanship
AS Standard & Poor's stated, the downgrade in the U.S. credit rating was caused by political brinkmanship, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the rating agency was talking about the tea party people who were willing to take the country over a cliff by refusing to pay the bills it already owed.

Limbaugh column
THE headline to a recent David Limbaugh lament was, "There is just no satisfying liberals." I can think of one way. That would be if Mr. Limbaugh discontinued his column.

IF Buffett wants to pay more taxes, he needs to fire his CPAs and not take any tax deductions.
Campaign donations
STARBUCKS' CEO calls for a boycott on campaign donations. I have been saying this all along. They do not care about America and the American people. They only care about keeping their high paying jobs. Thank God some are coming to their senses. I hope there are a lot more like him.
Pencil boxes
I'VE got a question for all the schools and teachers out there. I'm checking out these lists, all the things the children have to bring and it says to not bring certain sizes of pencil boxes because supposedly they won't fit in the desk. Tell me then where do all those big boxes of facial tissues, the little plastic zip-lock bags, all those handy wipes, where in the world do the children store all those things?
