Lawrence L. Anderson, 81, of Jackson died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Monticello House. He was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Wellsville, Mo., to Marion Edward and Velma Hazel Buchanan Anderson. He was first married to Joan Merle Clark. She died in January 1974. He then married Roberta Lee Hanna on June 7, 1975...

Lawrence L. Anderson, 81, of Jackson died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Monticello House.

He was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Wellsville, Mo., to Marion Edward and Velma Hazel Buchanan Anderson. He was first married to Joan Merle Clark. She died in January 1974. He then married Roberta Lee Hanna on June 7, 1975.

Lawrence was a printer with Christian Board of Publications in St. Louis 23 years, and with James-Mulligan Co. in St. Louis, retiring in February 1993.

He was a member of Westview Masonic Lodge 103 AF&AM of Millersville. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Scottish Rite of St. Louis and its choir. He also was a member of Local 505 Printers Union of St. Louis, and the 780th Field Artillery Unit.

Lawrence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Lee Anderson of Jackson; three daughters, Martha Clark Anderson of Troy, Mo., JoAnna L. (Charles) Anderson-Swon of Rocky Mount, Mo., Kimberley (Russell) Maschmeier of Oak Ridge; a sister, Marianna Andersen of Utah; five grandchildren, Steven, Nova, Frances, Alicia and Jamie; four great-grandchildren, Audrey, Ariel, Dakota and Autumn.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. A Masonic service will be held at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Mann of First General Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital.
