Martha Foose to give cooking demonstration

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Martha Hall Foose, James Beard award winner and cookbook author, will give a cooking demonstration and sign books Wednesday in Charleston. Foose's second cookbook, "A Southernly Course," brings alive the landscape, people and traditions that make Southern cuisine an American favorite. Foose will demonstrate some of her dishes and share the stories behind them. All participants will receive an autographed copy of "A Southernly Course." Demonstration are from 3 to 5 p.m. and another from 6 to 8 p.m. at the home of Dr. Ron and Diane Petersen, 1311 State St. in Charleston. For tickets, which are $65 and include a signed copy of "A Southernly Course," call the Charleston Chamber of Commerce at 573-683-6509. The event is sponsored by the Charleston Society for the Arts.
