CHATHAM, Ill. -- Carol Ann "Cookie" Kenyon Edmison, 70, of Chatham, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Ill. She retired Dec. 23, 2010, from Walmart in Springfield. She was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Detroit, daughter of Frank "Pete" and Edna Kenyon. She had two siblings, Debbie and Donald...

CHATHAM, Ill. -- Carol Ann "Cookie" Kenyon Edmison, 70, of Chatham, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Ill.

She retired Dec. 23, 2010, from Walmart in Springfield.

She was born Sept. 29, 1941, in Detroit, daughter of Frank "Pete" and Edna Kenyon. She had two siblings, Debbie and Donald.

Carol and Roger Allen Edmison Sr. were married April 1, 1961, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death March 29, 2000.

A brother, Donald "Donnie," preceded her in death June 1, 1955.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at noon Thursday at the funeral home, with Roger Edmison officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Survivors include a sister, Debbie (Wes) Robertson of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Victoria R. (Michael Mize) Edmison of Springfield, Ill., and Jennifer (Tony) Grissom of Glenarm, Ill.; two sons, Roger (Kendal) Edmison of Edmond, Okla., and Michael (Lisa) Edmison of Chatham; a nephew, David; 11 wonderful grandchildren, Michael Jr., Mason, Derek, Dakota, Paige, Logan, Brady, Elijah, Devin, Wyatt and Ethan.

Carol was a kind and generous person and of the Methodist belief. She enjoyed the company of her sweet dog, Bella, loved to knit baby blankets, was a whiz at crossword puzzles and loved to read.

Memorial gifts may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
