GIDEON, Mo. -- Authorities in southeastern Missouri say three people are dead following a one-vehicle crash in New Madrid County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the accident happened around 10:20 p.m. Monday on Main Street in Gideon. The patrol says a car driven by Dylan Cornett, 19, of Gideon, went out of control on a curve, ran off the road and struck a ditch, a utility pole and a large tree.

The crash killed Cornett and two of his passengers -- Hayley Cagle, 15, and Scottie Vires, 31, all of Gideon. A 14-year-old Gideon boy was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital with what the patrol described as serious injuries.
