She was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Cape Girardeau to Paul H. and Lela Grace Fornkohl Hanf. She and Jimmy Wayne Davis were married June 15, 1963, in Cape Girardeau. Sharon K. "Shorty" Davis, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 28, 1944, in Cape Girardeau to Paul H. and Lela Grace Fornkohl Hanf.

She and Jimmy Wayne Davis were married June 15, 1963, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1998.

She was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church and its ladies aid, the Ladies Auxiliary of Post 3838 and the River City Workers of the Blind. She also had been a cafeteria manager in the Cape Girardeau public school system.

Survivors include two sons, Rod Davis (Sandy) of Leopold, Mo., Jeff Davis (Jennifer) of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Tara Mendoza (Mario) of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Jeanie Brown of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, Ryan Davis, Gregg Davis, Cameron Davis, Paige Davis, Justin Davis, Tanner Mendoza and Brenden Mendoza.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tony Kobak officiating.

Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hanover Lutheran Church or to the River City Workers of the Blind.
