Scott City police and the SEMO Drug Task Force busted a Scott City methamphetamine lab and arrested a couple in connection with the lab on Friday, according to a police news release.

Authorities arrested Christopher Crider and Tamara Crider after they raided a home at 312 Steck St. and found a "shake and bake" meth lab inside, according to the release from the Scott City Police Department.

Police said they found items necessary to the manufacturing process and associated paraphernalia were located during a search of the basement bedroom. The home was briefly evacuated after authorities opened a bag and some manufacturing chemicals became airborne.

Police reportedly also found syringes in plain view.

Christopher Crider is being held on $100,000 cash-only bond, while Tamara Crider is being held on $25,000 cash-only bond. Two juveniles found in the home were placed with relatives by Missouri Children's Division due to the presence of the active meth lab and otherwise unacceptably dirty living conditions, police said.
