All the local high school events reported Tuesday to the Southeast Missourian.

Leopold and Oak Ridge will play for the Mississippi Valley Conference boys basketball tournament title.

The Blue Jays sneaked past Chaffee 31-30, while the Wildcats dispatched Zalma 81-58 in the other semifinal Tuesday at Meadow Heights.

Ryan Below scored 12 points in Oak Ridge's victory.

The Blue Jays outscored the Red Devils by three points in the final quarter.

Peyton Montgomery paced Chaffee with 10 points.

Leopold, the top seed, got 37 points from junior Kyle Stroder in its 81-58 win over Zalma.

Jake Reed and Gage Lemons scored 13 points apiece for Zalma.

Chaffee and Zalma will play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for third place, while the title game between Leopold and Oak Ridge is scheduled to tip at 8 p.m.
