Don Schearf, 67, of Delta passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the family home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 24, 1944, in Delta, to Phillip Ludwig and Myrtle Amelia Stoffregen Schearf. Don was a pole barn builder with Golden Rule Construction in Jackson and had many other skills in construction. He loved to fish, play pool and hang around with his buddies...

Don Schearf, 67, of Delta passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at the family home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born April 24, 1944, in Delta, to Phillip Ludwig and Myrtle Amelia Stoffregen Schearf.

Don was a pole barn builder with Golden Rule Construction in Jackson and had many other skills in construction. He loved to fish, play pool and hang around with his buddies.

Survivors include a son, Kevin (Debbie) Schearf of Jackson; a very special friend, Jean Schearf of Delta; five brothers, Lloyd Schearf of Chaffee, Mo., Gene Schearf of Advance, Mo., Glen and Elmer Schearf of Cape Girardeau, Alvin Schearf of Delta; and a sister, Mildred Campbell of St. Charles, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Levi Schearf.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Frank Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.
