Martha Kaufman

EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Martha Jordan Kaufman, 91, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of East Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

She was born April 24, 1920, in Elco, Ill., daughter of Eugene and Eulah Greer Jordan.

Martha was a caseworker with the Illinois Department of Public Aid in Cairo, Ill., retiring in 1984. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa and Word Finders Community of the church.

Survivors include two daughters, Gale (Bill) Graves of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Glenda (Jim) Clark of Tulsa; a son, George (Martha) Williams of Marble Hill, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Sue (Dale) Mowery of Tamms, Ill.; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Pierce; four brothers, Donald and Dean Jordan, and infants Eugene Jr. and Bobby Lee Jordan.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cross Road United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Clark officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
