BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- A week after being apprehended for allegedly escaping from the Stoddard County Jail, a Puxico, Mo.,-area man pleaded guilty to those actions.

Jason Stroup, 34, pleaded guilty Thursday to felony escape from custody and was sentenced to three years in prison. The sentence is to run consecutively to the combined 12-year sentences Stroup received earlier this month on forgery charges.

Stroup allegedly walked out of the Stoddard County Justice Center at about 11:30 a.m. Feb. 15 and was apprehended at about 3 p.m. Feb. 16 just inside the Bollinger County line.
