Jefferson principal, Central Middle assistant principal named

The Cape Girardeau School District released hiring choices Thursday for principal of Jefferson Elementary and assistant principal of Central Middle School.

Christa Turner will serve as principal at Jefferson beginning in the 2012-2013 school year. Turner is currently in her fifth year as assistant principal at Jackson Middle School. She was previously a sixth-grade teacher and worked for a year at the junior high and a year in the Kelso School District.

Turner will replace Mark Cook after he retires at the end of this school year.

RaeAnne Alpers will become assistant principal at Central Middle School. She is currently a teacher and literary coach at Central Junior High School.

Rex Crosnoe previously served as assistant principal but was promoted to principal.

Both hires were approved by the school board.
