Virginia L. Grantham, 81, of Jackson passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Monticello House.

She was born Sept. 13, 1930, in Sedgewickville, Mo., to Dale D. and Grace Seabaugh. She and Kelly T. Grantham were married June 24, 1949, in Bell City, Mo.

Virginia was a life member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church and a member of Jackson VFW Auxiliary Post 10495. She retired in 1993 after 29 years of employment at Meadow Heights School District as secretary to the superintendent.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Kelly Grantham of Jackson; two sons, Craig Grantham of Palm Springs, Calif., Rick (Dixie) Grantham of Jackson; two sisters, Geneva Downing of Grandview, Mo., Coletta (Donald) Garland of Jackson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Jeffrey Grantham.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. A VFW Auxiliary service will begin at 7.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Dowler officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the American Alzheimer's Association.
