A woman was cited for driving while intoxicated after allegedly causing a collision on Interstate 55 on Saturday.

Around noon, a woman, whose name is being withheld by police, struck a van with her Ford Taurus going southbound on Interstate 55 near the William Street exit, according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

When police arrived, the woman was taken into custody and later charged with driving while intoxicated.

One person involved in the collision complained of neck pain but declined medical attention, according to police.
