Mildred Lucille Varnum, 87, of Jackson passed away Sunday, March 4, 2011, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born April 23, 1924, in Jackson, daughter of George W. and Agnes Davidson Niblack. She and Doyle Kennett Varnum were married Feb. 14, 1976. He passed away Nov. 20, 2005.
Mrs. Varnum was a graduate of Jackson High School and the Office Training School. She was employed a number of years at Jackson Hosiery Mill and Rust and Martin. She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and a longtime volunteer of Jackson Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry.
Loving survivors include two cousins, Raymond Davidson and Ms. Cecil Beal of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents and two infant brothers.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service Wednesday in the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
