Merle A. Rivet, 83, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born March 16, 1928, in New Orleans, daughter of Charles and Margarite Scofield Adams. She and Kenneth F. Rivet Sr. were married Dec. 20, 1946. He passed away in January 1996.
Merle was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Loving survivors include a son, Kenneth (Cynthia) Rivet Jr. of Thebes, Ill.; four daughters, Margaret (Johnny) Cappell and Joan (Frank) Maggorie of New Orleans, Katherine (Melvin) Shepperrs of Simpsonville, S.C., and Frances (John) Butler of Kenai, Alaska; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles "Mickey" (Mildred) Adams of North Carolina; a sister, Marilyn (Al) Bourgeois of Pocomoke City, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Marjorie Pitts.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
