ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lois Johnson Leazenby, 96, of Advance passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Advance Nursing Center. She was born July 31, 1915, at Advance, the daughter of Volga and Bertha Mae Richmond Adkins. Lois was united in marriage to Henry Johnson on Sept. 15, 1934, at Advance. He preceded her in death May 30, 1980. She later married George Leazenby. They were united in marriage July 14, 1990, at Delta, and he preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1998...

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lois Johnson Leazenby, 96, of Advance passed away Friday, March 9, 2012, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born July 31, 1915, at Advance, the daughter of Volga and Bertha Mae Richmond Adkins.

Lois was united in marriage to Henry Johnson on Sept. 15, 1934, at Advance. He preceded her in death May 30, 1980. She later married George Leazenby. They were united in marriage July 14, 1990, at Delta, and he preceded her in death Jan. 15, 1998.

Lois was a homemaker and a member of Advance United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Johnson Stehlin of Advance; a brother, Harold Adkins of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Adkins; a sister, Doris Flemmer; and a son-in-law, Wayne "Skip" Stehlin.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Jerry Willer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance.
